ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist men’s and women’s basketball will both support the national Coaches versus Cancer movement this Saturday as the teams will play host to Hannibal-LaGrange University.
This season, both teams will donate all money collected at the gate to the American Cancer Society and will provide several ways for each fan to get further involved. Cancer survivor ribbons will be available at the front desk in the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex for $1 and a 50/50 raffle will take place at each contest during the first half.
Last year, MBU basketball raised over $400 at the event, a number that both teams intend to beat this year.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a national effort that collegiate basketball programs from across the NCAA and NAIA participate in each season. This year, fans can donate via text message directly to the American Cancer Society by texting “Coach” to 20222 any time between now and April 9. All who donate via text will be entered to win several national prizes, including a trip to the 2013 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in November of the 2013-14 season.
The Spartan women will play on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and the men’s game will immediately follow.
