Spartans Score 22 in Shutout of Little Giants

Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse posted 22 goals and goalie Ben Bowler collected his first win of the season against conference foe, Wabash College, on Saturday evening in a 22-0 victory.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – men’s lacrosse posted 22 goals and goalie Ben Bowler collected his first win of the season against conference foe, Wabash College, on Saturday evening in a 22-0 victory.

Missouri Baptist (4-3) began conference play on a high note on Saturday after dropping consecutive games to the top two teams in the nation last week. Spartan leading scorer, David Justvig, provided three goals in the game, while senior Justin Mueller scored four of his own.

Justvig began the scoring spree at the 12:13 minute mark of the first quarter. Nick Herron, followed just a minute later to make it 2-0 and the team didn’t look back. Herron, the junior from St. Louis, is quite familiar with the field. He played for CBC High School prior to college. Herron finished the game with two goals.

After recording a 10-0 halftime lead, the Spartans switched-up the lineup to give several underclassmen some playing time. Freshman Zach Rossfeld took full advantage. The middie from Rockwood Summit recorded three goals in the game while sophomores Mike Howle and Skyler Clamors both scored their first of the season.

Missouri Baptist will head out on the road for matches with Indiana Tech and Hope University on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game against IIT is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., while Saturday’s contest against Hope will begin at 1:00 p.m.
