Midwest Phillies Baseball Heats Things Up This 4th of July Weekend

The Midwest Phillies baseball team is on a hot streak, and is the #3 seed playing in a tournament in Edwardsville, IL 4th of July weekend.

It took the Midwest Phillies 17U baseball team a while to get into their stride this summer, but now they are on a hot streak, winning seven of their last eight games.

Last weekend they played in Bloomington, IN in a tournament of 31 top teams from several states, including Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, and Kentucky.  They won all of their pool games and made it into the semifinals.  In the quarterfinals, they beat the Lids Indiana Bulls Black, which is regarded by many to be the top 17U team in Indiana.

The Midwest Phillies are playing in a Pastime tournament in Edwardsville, IL over the 4th of July weekend.  This tournament has 31 top teams from several states including Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ontario.  They won all their pool games, including beating the Midwest Mules, which has been one of the teams to beat this summer.  They are the #3 seed playing in the championship bracket on Sunday July 7.

The weekend of July 12-14 the Midwest Phillies will be playing in the Greater Midwest Baseball Elite Midwest Nationals tournament at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O’Fallon, MO.  This tournament features eight of the top 17U/18U teams in the St. Louis area, who were invited to participate in the tournament.
