Pat Dielmann quipped earlier this year that she had only been to a pair of husband Harold's City Council meetings over the years, the two meetings when he was sworn-in as Mayor, until she came to what was his last meeting this spring as he left office.

She was constantly at his side otherwise at city functions over the years, including the retirement ceremony held at Chaminade over the summer where this photo was captured.

Thursday afternoon, Creve Coeur Mayor Barry Glantz released a statement:

Like so many others in our community, I am deeply saddened by the loss of Pat Dielmann.  She and her husband (former mayor) Harold Dielmann are icons in the City of Creve Coeur.

I spoke with Harold earlier today, and expressed my heartfelt condolences to him, and to the entire Dielmann family.

Pat’s warmth and lively personality will be sorely missed.

Let us all keep the Dielmann family in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

State Representative Jill Schupp and her husband Mark released the following statement to Patch:

"Our dear friend and First Lady Pat Dielmann was an amazing example of someone who gave fully to benefit our community without seeking the limelight. At the same time, Pat made her opinions and ideas known, and used her tremendous energy and love of life to positively impact those around her. She lived life fully.  Pat and Harold were a great team, modeling a deep respect and trust for each other. We will miss her deeply and are so grateful to have known her."

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul’s Church Dielmann-Hackmann-Knowles Memorial Fund, c/o Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141 or the Ladue Education Foundation for Patricia Dielmann, 9703 Conway Rd., St. Louis, MO 63124 www.laduefoundation.org.
