Man Passes Away Before Receiving City Honors

Robert McNulty was going to be honored with Creve Coeur proclamation Monday night, but died Sunday.

One of the first items on Monday's agenda for the City Council meeting was supposed to be a brief ceremony presenting Robert McNulty, a longtime city resident who has served on city committees, currently on the Building Code Board of Appeals, with a proclamation of appreciation.

Instead, Mayor Barry Glantz led a moment in silence for McNulty, who he said died Sunday. McNulty was also a trustee in the Whitebridge subdivision and had been in failing health, although the specifics were not immediately available late Monday.

"He's just one of the good guys in Creve Coeur who always served the city, worked on committees," said Ward 1 Councilman David Kreuter, who also knew McNulty through their ties to. "I always want to say somebody did a great job to his face rather than at his funeral," Kreuter lamented after Monday's Council session.
