Amazing Transformations by Local Volunteer Groups

Volunteer groups work miracles on our grounds and facility!

has been buzzing with excitement over the past few months. We've had the great pleasure of meeting two fantastic volunteer groups that literally worked miracles on our facility. On September 24, more than 100 volunteers from two congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Frontenac and Maryland Heights) spent the day painting, landscaping, decorating and making repairs to our facility. The work completed in one day by this group was nothing short of spectacular. They completed repairs and projects within hours. These tasks would have taken us many weeks to complete on our own.

On Saturday October 29, 22 garden club members and other volunteers spent the day renovating the landscape of our entryway. The Chesterfield Horticultural Club chose HavenHouse as its first ongoing community project. Many plants and landscaping materials were donated by club members and area nurseries. In addition, professional horticultural expertise was donated by renown St. Louis horticulturalist, Robert Dingwall, the founder of the club more than twenty years ago. John Littrell, owner of Littrell Irrigation, donated countless hours installing an irrigation system with many vendor donations. In one work day the volunteers completed what was to have been a three-year endeavor! The newly planted beds will be maintained by club members on a monthly basis.
