On Monday October 22, 2012 at approximately 10 p.m. Linda Reich was enjoying the autumn weather in the back yard of her home when she observed two people milling about in the rear of her elderly neighbor’s home.  As Linda watched, the subjects pried open a window, attempting to break into the home.  Linda shouted at the subjects who then took off running. She then called 9-1-1 and ran to a neighbor’s home to tell him what happened.

Jeff Myer had just let his dogs out of his home when his neighbor, Linda Reich, ran up and told him about the burglars.  Having had many years experience as a Police Officer, Jeff did not hesitate in pursuing the suspects.

Creve Coeur Police Officers Joel Snead, Neal Kohrs and Christina Stotler arrived in the area just as Jeff had chased the subjects into a wooded area south of Olive Boulevard. The officers searched for the subjects, eventually tracking them down and arresting them.

Later it was discovered that one of the suspects had a lengthy arrest history for burglary and had recently been released from prison for committing a similar residential burglary in Creve Coeur in 2010.

Working together, in partnership, the community and Police Department were successful in apprehending these criminals.

Linda Reich and Jeff Myers did not hesitate when presented with the opportunity to help their community and neighbors fight back against crime.

Officers Snead, Kohrs and Stotler demonstrated their courage, and ability to work as a team in flushing out and apprehending these burglars. For their actions each are awarded Certificates of Recognition.
