St. Louis County Police say they are investigating a woman's report that she was raped late Wednesday night.
According to a Thursday news release, an 18 year-old woman said she was walking home from a friend's house when she was grabbed and sexually assaulted near the intersection of Bennington Road and Fee Fee Road. The man then fled the scene.
The department described the suspect as a "heavyset Hispanic male in his 40’s with side burns, approximately 5’6 to 5’8 inches tall, weighing from 175-200 lbs., wearing a grey t-shirt and dark colored pants."
A Parkway School District spokeswoman confirmed that the district was notified about the incident. In a letter which went to parents today, Parkway North Principal Jenny Marquart said the incident did not involve a current student, but did occur across the street from the school.
"Our School Resource Officer and Parkway’s Security Department will continue to work closely with the police and take any precautions necessary to ensure our students are safe at school," Marquart wrote.
