County Police Recover Stolen Property, Searching For Burglary Suspect

Police do not believe the man on the run is still in a wooded area near CityPlace.

One suspect in a string of burglaries at Charter Place Apartments in St. Louis County just outside Creve Coeur is in custody, while another is still at large Wednesday.

County Police said they arrived at the complex Tuesday to find two males leaving the scene of another burglary. A police spokesman said the pair are believed to be behind two Tuesday burglaries there and are suspected in three more which took place February 8.

Officer Randy Vaughn told Patch Wednesday that authorities found 2 flat screen plasma TVs, 4 framed pictures and several silver bracelets in a car at the scene. When police checked the home of the suspect they brought in Tuesday they found more TVs and video gaming systems, Vaughn said.

County Police, along Creve Coeur Police, K-9 and air units searched a wooded area between the apartments and CityPlace offices in Creve Coeur Tuesday, but believe the second suspect fled the area before law enforcement arrived.

"We're going to get him," Vaughn said.
