Creve Coeur Bookkeeper To Be Sentenced In Embezzlement Case Friday

Karen Page was accused of stealing $234,000 from an insurance underwriter.

Karen Page, the former bookkeeper for a Creve Coeur insurance underwriting firm, will be sentenced in St. Louis County Circuit Friday following a guilty plea last month on a charge she embezzled more than a quarter of a million dollars over a three year period.

Page was charged in May 2012.

Authorities say Page deposited  J. Berg & Associates funds into her personal checking account by forging her boss’ signature on checks. The thefts totaling $234,000 occurred over a period of time which began June 1, 2009.
