Creve Coeur Firefighter Mourned

Chris Ziegelmeyer died suddenly on Monday. He had been a firefighter-paramedic for the department for just over a year.

An electronic billboard for the  is sharing a message of sympathy for a firefighter's loved ones.

Chris Ziegelmeyer, a firefighter-paramedic, died on Monday. Ziegelmeyer, 32, had been with the department for the last 15 months and was also serving in the North Jefferson County Ambulance District.

  • Visitation is Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at , also in Arnold.

Creve Coeur Fire Protection District spokesperson Jerry McQueen told Patch the department has made spiritual counseling available to those who seek it. Neighboring departments in Maryland Heights and the Monarch Fire Protection District have been providing staff at both of Creve Coeur's fire houses when needed.

McQueen said the entire department will be represented at Friday's service.
