Creve Coeur Police Forward Mercy Sex Complaint To State

Hospital officials decline comment.

say they have forwarded a complaint about allegations of sexual misconduct by a doctor at to the Missouri Department of Healing Arts.

The allegation emerged in a case that came to the attention of the Creve Coeur Municipal Court, although no criminal charges have been filed. Police officials say they then forwarded the information to state regulators. Travis Ford, a spokesman for the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration--the agency which oversees the Department of Healing Arts, could not confirm the existence of a complaint due to confidentiality rules.

The department does maintain a license database which can be searched by name and would include any disciplinary history. Action on complaints can take longer than a year, according to Ford.
