Creve Coeur Police Hand Out Honors

A quarterly recognition ceremony highlighted livesaving actions and honored those in the community who have helped the department.

The handed out certificates of recognition and other awards, including the department's Officer of the Quarter and the Life Saving Award, at a ceremony Thursday.

Officer Of The Quarter: Doug Manninger was selected for his work on several cases, including jumping into a lake to help officers rescue an elderly who had earlier this year. According to a statement read at the ceremony, Manninger also stopped a speeding vehicle in June and discovered the driver was a subject on a federal anti-terror watch list.

According to police, the man was not wanted for arrest. Officer Manninger was able to provide what the department called "pedigree information" about the subject for federal homeland security officials.

Certificate of Recognition & Life Saving Award: Officer Christopher Bartlett was honored for steps he took which paramedics believe helped save a woman's life earlier this month. On September 1 police were called to the Mobil station on Olive Boulevard for a woman who had collapsed, later determined to have been due to an aneurism. With no pulse, Officer Bartlett used an Automated Electronic Defribulator (AED) and CPR. Doctors say the woman will recover and the paramedics credited Officer Bartlett's user of the AED.

Among the other honors, Chief Richard Knox of the Olivette Police Department was recognized for the manpower he volunteered as

The Centric Group was honored for the donations the company has made over the years to the department's Welfare Fund.

Former Town Marshall Bill Kisling's continued service to the department was also recognized.
