Creve Coeur Woman Charged with Attacking State Trooper

The woman had failed a sobriety test and was being arrested, the Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper said.

A woman was Friday with attacking a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and driving while intoxicated.

The state trooper said in the report that Melissa Sperling, 24, failed a sobriety test March 26 on southbound Interstate 270 south of Page Boulevard. When the trooper started to arrest her, Sperling punched her, bit her and grabbed her hair trying to hit her head on the ground, the trooper said.

Sperling’s blood-alcohol content was 0.114, according to the report.

Sperling, of the 12300 block of Cross Creek, is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, DWI, resisting arrest and failure to drive in a single lane.

Bond was set at $30,000.
