DEA Investigation Targeted Four Area Residents

Four Bridgeton and Maryland Heights area residents were among those charged as a result of a two-year U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency investigation into methamphetamine production in St. Louis County. The arrests and charges were mostly in North and Northwest St. Louis County.

David Field, 46, of the 3500 block of Falcon Drive in Bridgeton, was charged with nine crimes:

• First-degree trafficking in drugs
• Possessing a chemical to create a controlled substance
• First-degree endangering a child’s welfare
• Three counts of manufacturing a controlled substance
• Possessing a controlled substance
• Possessing a meth precursor, pseudoephedrine.
• Distributing meth to others

Field’s girlfriend, Janice Williams, was charged separately in Bridgeton.

Police responded to their home in the 3900 block of Falcon Drive June 9, 2011 and smelled a strong chemical odor in the home associated with cooking meth.

On June 17, 2011 Field was arrested for selling meth and a search found several additional bags of methamphetamine.

According to DEA agents, Field admitted making meth for himself and others between Jan. 1, 2010 and June 21, 2011.

Several people charged in the DEA investigation were listed as supplying pseudoephedrine and other chemicals to Field so he could make meth.

Bail was set at $50,000, cash only, for Field.

Tonya Collins, 37, of the 11300 block of Trieste in unincorporated St. Louis County north of Creve Coeur, was charged Dec. 7 with providing precursor materials to make a controlled substance and possession of drug items with intent to make a controlled substance.

DEA agents said Collins provided pseudoephedrine and other material to meth cooks between June 2010 and October 2011. She bought 50 grams of pseudoephedrine and lithium batteries, muriatic acid and other material to help make methamphetamine.

Daniel Wright, 48 of the 12000 block of Colonial Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Dec. 5 with providing chemicals to other people to make meth.

DEA agents said Wright provided pseudoephedrine to meth cooks from Feb. 9, 2010 to Aug. 19, 2011, including David Field, of Bridgeton, who also has been charged in the DEA investigation.

Bail for Wright was set at $50,000.

Lisa Pangborn, 36, of the 3800 block of Raymond Street in Bridgeton, was charged Dec. 5 with providing meth precursor chemicals to be used in making methamphetamine.

DEA agents said Pangborn provided pseudoephedrine to David Field, of Bridgeton, in exchange for cash and finished meth. Agents said she bought more than 90 grams of pseudoephedrine from Aug. 26, 2010 through Feb. 20, 2012.

Bail was set at $25,000 for Pangborn.
