Driver, 91, ID'ed in Fatal Creve Coeur Wreck

The Missouri Department of Revenue tells Patch the 91-year-old Creve Coeur driver had a valid license.

A report obtained Thursday by Patch identified the 91-year-old driver involved in as Marvin Gelber, and describes the situation in slightly more detail than previously revealed.

Gelber and his passenger, , were in the driveway of the home they shared on Sackston Woods Lane, according to friends and acquaintances. Weaver, 67, died later at .

According to a "Calls for Service" report, police were contacted when the vehicle went through the backyard and ended up upside down in the front yard of another home in the neighborhood. The report indicates two dogs were also trapped in the vehicle.

Gelber is well-known in development circles as a homebuilder in the St. Louis area. A spokesman for the Missouri Department of Revenue confirmed Gelber has an active and valid Missouri driver's license. 

Attempts to reach Gelber for comment through his Creve Coeur office have been unsuccessful.

Funeral arrangements for Weaver, an area real estate agent and a member of the city of Creve Coeur's Economic Development Commission, were not available Thursday.
