Hacked! Creve Coeur Police Turn Over Computer Fraud Case To Feds

Thousands of dollars were nearly lost on airline tickets to Africa.

The FBI is now investigating how a Creve Coeur business was victimized by computer hackers who were able to book $30,000 worth of airline tickets.

first responded to the business on August 1. Police would not identify the location by name, but KMOV-TV confirmed Tuesday that the business was .

Brentwood's CEO told KMOV's Russell Kinsaul that the purchases were "red flagged" before the tickets, booked to African destinations, were used.

Creve Coeur Police told Patch the FBI is looking into similar cases in the St. Louis area. An FBI spokeswoman did not return messages seeking comment.
