Home Lost In Graeser Rd. Fire

Smoke could be seen from more than a mile away from Creve Coeur house fire Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured.

A Creve Coeur family in the Westwood Place subdivision of Creve Coeur is safe after a Tuesday afternoon house fire in the Graeser Rd. neighborhood near Ladue Road.

After 2 p.m. the a homeowner at 169 S. Graeser called  911 after authorities said a small fire was seen on the rear deck of the home. A first responder reported seeing thick black smoke from a mile and a half away. When fire crews arrived they found a two story fire consuming 50 percent of the home.

The two residents inside and a pet dog made it out safely, but a Creve Coeur Fire Protection District spokesman said they were not able to retrieve other belongings.

Fire departments from Ladue, Maryland Heights, West County EMS and Monarch also responded to the scene with support.

Investigators were still conducting interviews at the scene and expected to be on the site into the early evening. No cause has been determined.
