Man Accused In Creve Coeur Grocery Store Parking Lot Attack Free On Bond

Josef Achtentuch is due back in court June 15.

Josef Achtentuch, who Creve Coeur Police say injured two people when he attempted to hit two pedestrians with his car in a Schnucks parking lot in April, is out of jail on a reduced bond of $50,000.

Achtentuch, 61, was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury last month. According to the Office of State Courts Administrator's website CaseNet, Achtentuch posted bond on Thursday May 26 and was ordered to seek psychiatric care within 48 hours of his release.

He was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims in the case. A June 1 arraignment on felony and misdemeanor charges was rescheduled for later in the month.
