Man In Creve Coeur Grocery Parking Lot Car Incident Indicted

Josef Achtentuch faces two assault charges for allegedly striking two pedestrians last month.

A St. Louis County man accused of injuring two people in a Creve Coeur Schnucks parking lot last month was indicted by a grand jury this week.

According to online court records from the Office of the State Courts Adminstrator (casenet), Josef Achtenuch was indicted on felony and misdemeanor assault charges on Wednesday May 18.

According to a copy of the original criminal complaint filed in St. Louis County Court, in the Olive Blvd. parking lot just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 23. The complaint says Achtentuch threw a brick at the same person, and that "such conduct was a substantial step toward the commission of the crime of attempting to kill or cause serious physical injury," of the victim.

None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Achtentuch is scheduled to be arraigned in St. Louis County Court June 1.
