Man Punched and Choked Girlfriend, Zip-Tied Her to Kitchen Chair, Police Say

Bryan A. Hale was charged with second- and third-degree domestic assault.

A St. Louis County man is accused of attacking his girlfriend and zip-tying her to a kitchen chair.

Bryan A. Hale, 39, of the 2000 block of King Arthur Court in St. Louis County, was charged April 11 with one count each of second-degree domestic assault and third-degree domestic assault.

St. Louis County Police said Hale punched his girlfriend in the face at about 12:42 a.m. Jan. 1 at their home just north of Creve Coeur.

Police said they also responded to the home Sept. 1, and that Hale used zip ties to bind her wrist to a kitchen chair. Police said when she freed herself, Hale punched her several times in the head, bit her, choked her and threw her against the kitchen wall and cabinets.

Police said the woman was bruised and had a swelling on her face and wrist.

Bail was set at $35,000 for Hale, and he is to have no contact with the victim.
