Police: Arrest At High School Softball Game Likely Not Rape Suspect

Authorities are still investigating a reported rape that took place near the intersection of Fee Fee and Bennington Road Wednesday night.

St. Louis County Police responded to a high school softball game Thursday night at Parkway North after a parent reported seeing someone who matched the description of a man authorities are searching for in connection with a suspected rape case in the area.

Patch has pictures from the scene tweeted by onlookers, showing St. Louis County Police taking a man into custody.

Friday morning, a department spokesperson said the person arrested was connected to a warrant, although the spokesperson did not immediately know the circumstances of the warrant.

Swab tests were done on the person brought in Thursday, but Randy Vaughn, the Media Relations Officer, said that person's age doesn't match with the suspect in the rape case.

Police have described the rape suspect as a"heavyset Hispanic male in his 40’s with side burns, approximately 5’6 to 5’8 inches tall, weighing from 175-200 lbs., wearing a grey t-shirt and dark colored pants."
