Police: Man Drove Drunk, Caused Crash in Creve Coeur

The accused was driving while his license was suspended, according to Creve Coeur Police.

A man faces a criminal charge after police said he caused a collision on New Ballas Road Friday while driving drunk.

Kenneth S. Klein, of the 1700 block of Schulte Hill Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated.

Klein caused an accident at 828 New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur by colliding with a woman’s car, police said. The woman bruised her arm and hit her head in the crash.

Creve Coeur Police said Klein appeared to be drunk and had watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol. He failed all sobriety tests and was driving with a suspended license due to nonpayment of child support.

Bail was set at $10,000.
