Police: Man Used Movie As A Set Up For Armed Robbery

Man was robbed by acquaintance, two others following movie at AMC West, police said.

A man set an acquaintance up for a robbery after the two attended a movie together December 29 at AMC West Olive Theaters, Creve Coeur Police said.

Devan H. Nabors, 18, of the 3900 block of North 21st Street in North St. Louis, was charged last week with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

Creve Coeur Police said that after the movie, the Nabors told his acquaintance he wanted him to meet his mother and directed him to an area in the parking lot at 12657 Olive Blvd.

Two men with handguns met him, and Nabors also took out a handgun, police said. They told him he would be killed if he didn’t give them his property, so he gave them his money and cell phone, according to the police report.

The victim identified Nabors as one of the robbers.

The case is scheduled to be back in St. Louis County Circuit Court January 16.
