Police: Man Tried To Hit Officer With A Car At The Post Office

Aaron Russell has a St. Louis County Court hearing scheduled for October 31.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney has charged Aaron Russell, of St. Louis, with a Class C Felony count of assaulting a law enforcement officer after Creve Coeur Police said Russell attempted to hit an officer with a car September 13.

A police spokesman said it started when a postal delivery came to an apartment but was not addressed to Russell, who then followed the carrier back to the U.S. Post Office on North New Ballas Road. Postal officials then called in a report of a suspicious person to authorities and when an officer responded, police allege Russell attempted to hit the officer with a car.

The car, police said, went in reverse and stalled on a curb, where it was boxed in by other police units which had responded to the scene.
