Police Offering Prescription Drug Drop-off Day Saturday

Residents can drop off old or unwanted prescription drugs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Law enforcement agencies around the country and here in Creve Coeur are offering to help with spring-cleaning this weekend.

Saturday, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are hosting a prescription drug take-back day.

Anyone wishing to dispose of old or unwanted prescription medication can drop it off in the rear parking lot at the between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

St. Louis County Police will also have sites available, and said this day is especially helpful for the elderly, who can correctly dispose of their medication instead of throwing it in the trash.

“It lessens the risk or chance of somebody getting in there and taking it, especially a child,” County Police Officer Mike Schira said.

The event is completely anonymous and police said they’re taking a “no questions asked” approach.
