On Tuesday November 27, 2012 at approximately noon Officer Geoff DeNatale and Officer Kirsten Ellerbusch responded to a call of an elderly female having a heart attack in the Waterford Downs Apartment complex.

Upon their arrival the officers were unable to get any response at the residence.  The door was locked and there was no one with a key that was close by.  Both officers decided to make a forced entry into the apartment in order to locate the resident and assess her condition.  Officer DeNatale forced the door until it finally gave, allowing entry.

Once inside the officers discovered the resident conscious, but suffering a medical emergency. Paramedics arrived and transported her to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

Officers DeNatale and Ellerbusch demonstrated their ability to quickly assess a critical situation and make a good decision, which possibly saved the resident’s life. For their actions they each are awarded this Certificate of Recognition.
