Suspect Identified In Missouri Baptist University Car Fires

A statement released by the school Saturday said increased security measures have been in place since Wednesday in Creve Coeur.

While Creve Coeur Police say no arrest has been made, a spokesman for Missouri Baptist University said Saturday that the person believed to be responsible for a pair of car fires early Wednesday morning on campus has been identified and that the person was a student there.

"MBU is committed to the safety of its students and employees and worked closely with local authorities in the days following the incident to assist with the investigation and to ensure our community remained safe,” University spokesman Bryce Chapman said in a statement.

The incident happened just hours after graduation ceremonies were held off-campus. Chapman's statement said there were more patrol officers on duty overnight and more surveilance measures in place after the incident as a precaution.
