Thief Makes Off With Trash Hauler's Gift Cards & Cash

Someone stole gift cards and money intended for a Creve Coeur trash collection crew.

Creve Coeur Police are investigating how a crew of garbage haulers got left holding the bag instead of some intended holiday cheer.

According to police, a trash collection crew was on the 200 block of Eugenia Street December 18 when one of the crew members saw a man in a pickup truck walk to the back of a residence near where trash cans are kept.

Money and gift cards had been left out for the trash team on top of those garbage cans. According to police, a suspect gave back some of the cards after "a confrontation" between the suspect and the trash haulers, and then fled the scene.
