Budget Vote Monday Could Raise City Pay, Boost Police

The city of Creve Coeur's budget includes a 3.2 percent salary increase for employees.

The Creve Coeur City Council will vote Monday night on a proposed 2014 budget of more than $15.4 million, which translates to a 5.3 percent increase over the 2013 spending plan.

In the budget for the coming year is an addition of two full-time employees. One is making a part-time position in the city building department a full-time hire, and the addition of one police officer which would allow the city to contribute an officer to the St. Louis County Drug Task Force, which pools resources to fight drug crimes at a regional level.

The budget also includes a 3.2 percent salary increase for city employees, at a total cost of $162,575.

For an overview of the budget, check out this letter from City Administrator Mark Perkins to the Mayor and City Council.

The rest of the budget can be found on the city's website.
