Charlotte D'Alfonso Files For Council Re-Election Bid

Creve Coeur City elections will be held in April.

City Councilwoman Charlotte D'Alfonso officially filed her papers to seek a second term representing Ward 3 Thursday.

The period to file for April's elections closes January 15.

D'Alfonso, a community activist, was first elected in 2011 after a petition effort to have her named to the panel to fill a vacancy in 2010 failed to sway former Mayor Harold Dielmann.

Before and during her time in office, D'Alfonso has been outspoken on issues related to development, particularly with respect to Delmar Gardens' proposal for land on Ladue Road west of Interstate 270. The proposal is near her Ward 3 home. In office, D'Alfonso said she's looked out for interests across the city and has been responsive to residents who have questions.

“I’m happy when I find out that residents feel like they’re being heard. Doesn’t mean we always have to agree, but I want them to know that they’re heard and their concerns are taken seriously and that we think that this community is fantastic as they do,” she said after filing her paperwork.

As for what the next two years holds for the city, D'Alfonso pointed to managing Creve Coeur's pension liabilities, lowering city debt and taxes.

So far, D'Alfonso has no opposition in Ward 3.
