City Panel Needs Your Input On Big Development Issues Monday

The Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission will hold public hearings tonight on issues tied to a possible Fresh Market grocery store, a Jet's Pizza restaurant and a new apartment complex.

The city of Creve Coeur's Planning and Zoning Commission will host a total of five public hearings at Monday night's meeting that will guide the panel's decisions on a number of high profile development projects.

  • As previously reported on Patch, the Koman Group plans to seek approval of a Fresh Market grocery store in front of CityPlace 6 along Olive Boulevard. The project itself is not on the agenda, but the panel will hold a public hearing on a text amendment which would allow City Council to change the required front setback, or, how far a building is from the street. The change is being requested so the application for the project can go forward.
  • The commission will also hold a hearing on a bid to increase density limits in certain areas as part of a plan to redevelop the former Hamilton Christian Church into apartments. A developer wants the ability to have 40 unit per acre as opposed to the current 20. This proposal is wholly different than the apartment complex planned further down Old Olive Street, which will be back before P&Z next month.
  • Jet's Pizza, seeking approval of a second Creve Coeur location at the Shoppes at Questover, first needs approval of a text amendment that would ease restrictions on the amount of space in the zoned area dedicated for restaurants. The pizza shop is looking for a 40 seat restaurant at the Questover location.
Information about the other items on Monday's agenda can be found on the city's website. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Creve Coeur Government Center.
