Creve Coeur Girl Gains Girls State Election, Prepares To Meet President Obama

Pattonville High School senior Anjali Fernandes will make address in Jefferson City this weekend and meet President Obama in Washington later this month.

Fresh off her election to a pair of posts in Girls State at the state and national levels, senior Anjali Fernandes is getting ready for visits to the state capitol and the nation's capitol this month.

Girls State is a mock government project designed for young women who have completed their junior years in high school.

Fernandes found herself in something of a "constitutional crisis" according to a news release from the Pattonville School district because before her, no one had ever been selected as Missouri Girls State's Governor and a national Senator at the same time
