Election Results: Parkway School District Board of Education

Four candidates were competing for three spots on the board, with the incumbents winning the day.

Voters decided April 5 that incumbent Parkway School Board members Dee Mogerman, Bruce Major and Chris Jacob should keep their positions. Voters could select three of four candidates to vote for in the Parkway School Board election.

Jacob received the most votes, with 8,237 votes, or 26.10 percent. Mogerman garnered 8,162 votes, or 25.86 percent. Major garnered 7,994 votes, or 25.33 percent.

Newcomer Patricia Adair received 7,034 votes, or 22.29 percent of the vote. Write-in candidates got 134 votes, or .42 percent.

Chris Jacob spoke with Patch early Wednesday morning. He said the board will work hard to implement Project Parkway over the next term. He also looks forward to working with the new superintendent, Dr. Keith Marty.

Three incumbent candidates for Parkway Board of Education garnered more votes than Patricia Adair in the April 5 school board election, but that defeat hasn’t deterred her from staying active in the district.

She said she hopes the Parkway school board will continue their progress on Project Parkway, the district's multi-year strategic planning effort. Adair said she would also like to see the board come up with a continuous improvement plan.

As for what’s next for Adair, she said she wants to contribute in different ways. Adair told Patch that she hopes to volunteer in the district. She said plans to speak with Don Senti, Parkway’s interim superintendent, about where her skills will best serve Parkway.

The other candidates could not be reached for comment.
