Creve Coeur EPA Green Power Community Challenge Kick-Off

The City of Creve Coeur will hold a free kick-off event for their EPA Green Power Community Challenge on Wednesday, April 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the main lobby of Mercy Hospital St. Louis at 615 S. Ballas Rd.

Creve Coeur’s EPA Green Power Community (GPC) Challenge reflects the city’s new effort to reduce its carbon footprint, to protect the environment and to increase community pride and community engagement in conservation efforts. Based on EPA guidelines, Creve Coeur’s Challenge goal will be to make green power 3 percent of citywide energy consumption. The Challenge will be led by the City, Ameren Missouri Pure Power™ and Microgrid Energy. Together, these entities will work to enlist the support and use of clean energy by local businesses, residents and non-profits by encouraging the private consumption of renewable energy via the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs) or the installation of onsite renewable energy.

A short program at 9 a.m. features representatives from the City of Creve Coeur, Mercy Hospital St. Louis and The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center announcing their commitment to helping the City achieve the Challenge goal.
