Fusz Fiat Plan Gets Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning OK

Commissioners approve revised plan for landscaping and building on Lindbergh Blvd.

The first Fiat brand vehicle rolled off the lot at the Lou Fusz property in Creve Coeur earlier this year, but the dealership is still in the process of making the visible switch from Saturn to Fiat.

That process received a boost Monday, when Creve Coeur's Planning and Zoning Commission approved a plan to make changes to the businesses landscaping and other areas to be in line with city guidelines. The dealership came before the same board last month and was turned away by commissoners who wanted the plan to do a better job landscaping the area and also addresss signage concerns at what is already a prominent location in the area at Olive and Lindbergh.

After consulting with Fiat, and agreeing to commissioners' request to irrigate the entire property, the P&Z board unanimously approved the dealership's request. Lou Fusz, Jr. told officials that he had to cut the number of jobs in half when the Saturn brand went out of business last fall, but that 20 positions could come back on board over the next several months depending on sales.
