Olive Boulevard Transportation Development District Backs Utility Work

Board directs project staff to examine what it would take to place utility lines underground.

Members of the Olive Boulevard Transportation Development District (TDD) Board of Directors moved a step closer Wednesday to completing the project phase of the district's work, by reinforcing a desire to use the TDD's remaining funds to underground utility lines from New Ballas Rd. past on Olive Blvd. in to the Orchard Lakes subdivision.

City staff managing the project told board members it would cost roughly $800,000 for that work, with estimates on lighting, which has also been a point of emphasis for some in the community, costing roughly $90,000 along North New Ballas Road and Olive Blvd.

Any work on Olive Blvd. would require Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) approval.
