Participate 2012: Filing For April Elections Opens Tuesday

Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, candidates for April's open municipal offices can began filing their petitions to get on the ballot. The filing period ends January 17, 2012.

Patch will have reports throughout the day from across the area as candidates come forward. Here is a look at which seats are up for election:

City of Creve Coeur

Longtime Creve Coeur Mayor Harold Dielmann is term-limited and cannot run for re-election. Barry Glantz and Laura Bryant, two former members of the city's Plannng and Zoning Commission and city council,

One city council seat in each ward is also up for election. Incumbents David Kreuter (Ward 1), AJ Wang (Ward 2), Bob Hoffman (Ward 3), and Jeanne Rhoades (Ward 4) have all indicated they intend to seek re-election.

Note: While filing ends January 17, city offices will close Friday December 23 at 12 p.m. and will be closed December 26 and January 2.

Creve Coeur Fire Protection District

  • One six-year term
  • One four-year term

 

Pattonville School District

Filing for on the Board of Education seats begins at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13 and ends at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17. Candidates may file for office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Pattonville Learning Center.

Two three-year term seats are up for election on the April 3, 2012 ballot.

Ladue School District

The seats currently held by Sheri Glantz and Audrey Mack will be up for election in April.

Parkway School District

The current three-year terms of Helen Casteel and Beth Feldman expire in April, opening up the positions. 

Candidates must file in person at the , located at 455 N. Woods Mill Rd. in Chesterfield. Filing can be done at that location from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Filing hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m on Jan 17, the last day of filing.

Names will appear on the ballot in the order the candidates file.
