Property Tax Rate Cometh: Creve Coeur Hearing Monday

The city is proposing to keep rates at 2011 levels.

A 7 p.m. hearing Monday night at the will be the public's opportunity to weigh in on proposed property tax rates for 2012.

If City Council members go along with what has been outlined by city staff, the rate will be unchanged from 2011 levels for residential and commercial taxpayers ($.084/residential and $.079/commercial). The agricultural rate of $.091 would voluntarily move to $.088.

According to a staff memo from Dan Smith, Creve Coeur's Finance Director, the rates would carry over for 2013, and would cost the city roughly $28,500 annually.
