Other facts
Lampe stayed in Springfield after graduation where she began working in the Springfield Public School system. Lampe worked as a teacher and administrator for nearly 40 years. As a teacher and a principal, she developed the most effective programs in Missouri for at-risk students in public schools. Lampe taught these methods to generations of educators while serving as an adjunct professor at Drury University. Today, programs across the state are modeled on those she started in southwest Missouri. Lampe is also an education consultant. Lampe is a member of a number of professional associations, including: Gifted Association of Missouri, Drury University’s Center for Gifted Education, Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders, CASA, Business and Professional Women, Springfield & Missouri Retired Teachers Association, American Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, and NAACP. Lampe has also served in the House of Representatives for the past eight years, fighting for common sense values. She has served on the Elementary and Secondary Education, Utilities, Downsizing State Government committees, and as the ranking Democrat on the Budget committee.
