State Senate Maps Redrawn Again
Creve Coeur remains in the 24th District under new plan released Friday.
A panel of judges tasked with redrawing state legislative boundaries to reflect population shifts under the 2010 Census has issued a revised proposal for state senate districts, a little more than a week after
District 24, which includes Creve Coeur, is among 22 districts to see no change when compared to the map released last month. The new boundary effectively consolidates Creve Coeur into a single State Senate district. Portions of the city are currently represented by John Lamping (R-Ladue) and Jane Cunningham (R-Chesterfield). Cunningham has decided to run in a new district, which would not include Creve Coeur.
According to a statement released by the Appellate Apportionment Commission, "a majority of the Commission opted to revise the plan upon further consideration of a constitutional provision regarding multi-district counties, even though that provision may not apply to redistricting maps drawn by the appellate judges."
