Waterway Car Wash In Talks To Do Detailing Work At Reuther Site

A public hearing was held at Monday's Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

The founder and chairman of the board for went before Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission members to discuss a proposal in a public hearing Monday to open a car detailing shop on the campus on Olive Blvd.

Henry Dubinsky said his company currently has a detailing operation near the Waterway Car Wash in Maryland Heights, but is looking to move the facility to Creve Coeur. One member of the public who spoke at the hearing wanted assurances that the site would not turn into a full-fledged Car Wash along the lines of the existing locations, citing possible traffic concerns.

The proposal, which requires city approval for a conditional use permit, only allows for indoor car washes on the current site. Further structural changes to the building would not be approved under the current zoning, and Dubinsky himself said there are "No plans of any kind to turn this into a car wash."

Dubinsky told commission members that the facility would see approximately four cars a day and would do work that would take too long to do at current Waterway Car Wash locations.

The proposal was approved on a unanimous vote, with two members absent. It now goes to city council.
