Not Another Book Review

Nope, not this week! This week we’re talking bookSTORE, as in All on the Same Page Bookstore, right here in Creve Coeur. In the spring of 2011, word came down that Borders was closing and, by fall, all their stores were shuttered. We hadn’t thought much of that news blurb, except to lament another closing, but by the end of July a light bulb went off and we planned to open AOTSP right up the road, on Olive Blvd.

Our target date to open was October 1, exactly one year ago today. We took possession of our space in the strip center, right next to Thai Nivas and a few doors down from Pumpernickel’s, on Wednesday afternoon and opened that Saturday, October 1, 2011.

It’s been quite a whirlwind – just nine weeks from conception to grand opening, and we’re still here a year later! We started with used books, added a few new titles which quickly grew into even more, and now we specialize in local authors. You can stop by almost any day or time and one of them might be there, just visiting or bringing us a few more copies. A lot of these books are set here in St. Louis, too! And yes, we do still have used books and best-selling titles too, as well as a few comfy chairs if you just want to stop in and browse or hang out for a while.

Besides the books, we also have book signings almost every Saturday, a monthly book club and a writers’ group, and occasionally host other groups and events.

We want to thank all our wonderful customers and welcome new ones too! If you get a chance, stop by this week from some great specials and events, ending Saturday afternoon with an open house where you can meet your favorite local authors.
