Dirty Muggs will be playing Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at the Missouri History Museum.
We saw Dirty Muggs perform at the St. Louis Zoo's Jungle Boogie series on August thirty-first, the last show in that great Friday evening summer series. The Schnuck Family Plaza is a friendly venue to the family-oriented crowds that usually attend the early-evening shows, but that August night was the night the remnants of hurricane Isaac hit St. Louis. The rain didn't cause cancellation of the concert though—event planners moved the band inside the Lakeside Cafe. We enjoyed the performance but felt that the band was somewhat inhibited by the closed environment and cold acoustics of the cafeteria.
That won't be the case Tuesday night when Gary “Dee Dee” James and his band are sure to thrive on the great venue that Twilight Tuesday presents. Their variety of high energy music, the backdrop of the museum facade, and the enthusiastic crowd will make the Dirty Muggs concert well worth attending.
If you've never attended Twilight Tuesdays, we encourage you to check it out. The paved and grassy areas surrounding the stage provide great views of the performers. The sponsors provide excellent sound and lighting every time, and the area in front of the stage is almost always packed with people dancing and just having a blast.
Bring your lawn chair, cooler and extra wrap (temp expected to be in the mid sixties) and enjoy the music, dancing and fun crowd at Twilight Tuesday, Missouri History Museum at Lindell & DeBaliviere in Forest Park.
