Dinner With The Big Band, Pattonville Style

Funds raised at Creve Coeur appearance will help defray costs for an April competition.

If you're in traffic on Olive Boulevard during rush hour, you wouldn't be surprised to hear a few horns every now and then.

But Monday evening, there were horns, flutes, tubas, and more.

The Pattonville High School Marching Band performed a brief set at Noodles & Company, as part of a promotion as the restaurant unveiled new menu items. The band received a flat fee for their time, and proceeds from the evening will benefit band programs.

Director Dennis McFarland said opposed to last band season, which saw the group go to Hawaii to participate in a parade over the summer, this year's focus is on stateside events. The band is raising funds to bring in clinicians to work with students, and also the money needed to participate in an April Concert Band festival.
