“Advocating for Services for Your Family at Every Level”...

While it is important for all families to know how to advocate for their child, families who care for a family member with disabilities have no choice, but to advocate on behalf of their family member in order to ensure they get the services they need. This presentation will cover the importance of advocating for the resources and services your family needs using concrete examples related to medical care, educational placement, public services and legislation. Participants will receive handouts on “how tos” as well as resources that they can take with them. There will be an opportunity for discussion and questions and answers.
