Getting Over .500 is a Goal for Ladue's Soccer Team

Strong core of juniors, seniors expected to lead the Rams.

The Ladue boys soccer team went 10-14 last year. And their ring leader Keaton Malinich with 14 goals has graduated. Coach Matt Prange gets to find a new goal keeper too. Joe Lombardo recorded six shutouts in 2011.

Shed no tears. The Rams have replacements. Jeet Das is one of four returning starters. “He’s like another coach on the team. He gives us great leadership,” said Prange.

Eric Stuber, junior goal keeper is expected to take charge of the defense. A quartet of juniors including the keeper will play key roles. They are: Javy Ritter, Nick Hartig, and Patrick Sullivan.

Other positions are wide open during fall conditioning camp.

Prange likes the schedule. The Rams open play in the Quincy Tournament, just as they did last year, meeting some success.

The second week of play includes being in the MICDS tournament. “That’s a great way to find out what we have this year before going into Suburban East play,” said the coach.

“I believe we will get everyone involved. I know the boys will do a great job of representing our school and we figure we will win some games,” said Prange.
