Letter From The Principal: Parkway Northeast Students Selected For Presidential Election Survey

Creve Coeur area students can participate in the "Nick News Kids Pick the President" project.

By Dr. Kim Brandon, Principal at

Every four years Nickelodeon airs a series of shows called "Nick News Kids Pick the President" where kids have the opportunity to discuss the election issues that matter most to them and have their questions and concerns addressed directly by the presidential candidates.

Nick News is currently reaching out to kids across the country to find out what some of those questions and concerns are.

By distributing an online survey to a select number of schools, Nick News is asking teachers to pass the survey on to their students before the end of the school year.  The survey allows Nick News to collect questions and follow up with students--even in the summer.

If a student's question is selected, Nick News will send a crew to the student's home town to film the student asking the question directly to the candidates who will, in a separate interview, have the opportunity to answer their—and other kids’ questions—personally.

Nick News is looking for kids who are interested in politics and have been following the 2012 campaigns to share with us what they want to know from this year's presidential candidates.

Nick News has done this for every presidential election since 1988, and the candidates always have a great time seeing the kids on screen and asking smart questions.

If your child is interested in the presidential election, encourage him/her to ask a question!
