Pattonville High School Principal Leaving For Texas

The district hopes to have a replacement candidate ready to present to board members next month.

Dr. Sara Keene will resign as's principal at the end of June, according to Pattonville School District. Keene, who has served as the school's principal for three years, is leaving to move to Texas after her husband was transferred to a new job there.

In a letter to parents explaining her decision, Keene said she will have fond memories of working at Pattonville High.

"I want to thank everyone for your support and your efforts on behalf of our students," she said in the letter. "The memories I have and the friendships I formed during my time here will always be special. I am honored to be a part of this school, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with you and your children as they journey through their high school years."

Mickey Schoonover, Director of School-Community Relations for the Pattonville School District, said the district is working on a job posting that will go out later this week advertising for the open principal position. After that's posted, the district will accept applicants for a few weeks and put candidates through a rigorous screening process.

The district hopes to have a replacement for Keene to present to the Board of Education by the end of February. Keene had been with Pattonville High for three years, coming from a previous principal position in Columbia, IL.
