Principia Girls Roll to District Title Over Whitfield

Warriors advanced to the district title game in the first year under a new head coach.

senior Kara Johnson marked her team’s district win over with a milestone of her own. She hit 1,000 career points Friday night.

The Principia girls left little doubt, as they notched their 16th win in a row. The score was 39-10 at the half, in front of a boisterous home crowd for the Class 3 District 6 tournament final. They won it 56-16.

“She can flat out play, man, she can flat out score. People are like, ‘Hey, you’re doing a great job coaching.’ Why? (Because) I say pass the ball into Kara,” Principia coach Shad Nichols said in STLhighschoolsports. “Does that make me a good coach because I tell the team to pass it to her inside?”
